Canadian Adventures 4: Street Art in Montréal

Paintings on a wall, graffiti, pavement drawings; a true city dweller has probably experienced at least one form of street art while walking towards a public transportation stop. The only way to keep artists happy and on the streets.

I am not talking about single-colour squiggles or offensive declarations. I am talking about real art. If done well, it can make a city so much more alive! Take Montréal for example: six months of winter every year! The city could have been a greyish, drab-looking collection of bricks deposited in a mountain of snow. But Montréal is young, trendy and artsy, and it shows! Artists are allowed to decorate big swatches of blind walls and sides of buildings with whatever sprouts in their imagination. Apparently, the artwork changes every year as well. Check out what I have found while wandering around:
